Arema FC is the club of Malang, the cool-climate city in the East Java highlands. Founded in 1987, the club built one of the most recognisable fan cultures in Indonesia: the Aremania, known for their blue and their humour as much as their noise. Arema won the Indonesia Super League in 2009-10 and have lifted the Piala Presiden four times.

Home games are at Kanjuruhan Stadium in Kepanjen, Malang Regency. The stadium was the scene of the October 2022 disaster in which 135 people lost their lives after a match; it has since been rebuilt with modern safety standards and a memorial. Visitors should treat the site with respect.

Tips for visitors

  • Ticket purchase requires identity verification with an Indonesian NIK/KTP and you must bring matching ID to the gate - foreigners should contact the club or ask a local friend/hotel for help well before match day.
  • Kanjuruhan was the site of the October 2022 disaster in which 135 people died; the rebuilt stadium has a memorial - be respectful, and follow steward and police instructions.
  • Never attend in Persebaya (green) colours, and avoid the East Java derby as a neutral; away fans are often barred from this fixture.

Fixtures, venues and ticket rules change often. Check the club's official channels before you travel.
